Sacagawea was an Indian woman from the Shoshone tribe who served as a translator and guide for the legendary expedition of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark.

Early Life and Capture
Sacagawea was born in the Agaidika tribe, but at the age of 13, she was kidnapped by the Hidatsa tribe along with several other girls from her tribe.
